Submission Requirements

Thank you for considering the International Journal of Artificial Intelligence & Knowledge Engineering (AIKE Journal) for your manuscript. To ensure a smooth and timely review, please prepare and submit your work according to the following guidelines.

Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. Submissions should be written in clear, concise English and formatted as described in the following section 2 below. All figures, tables, and references must be properly cited and integrated into the text.

The contents of the submitted article must be within the scope of the JAIKE journal and be of sufficient quality. If not, the article will not be reviewed. Please read the journal’s Aims and Scope to see if your article is appropriate and suitable for the Journal.

We welcome the following submission types in AI and knowledge engineering:

  • Original Research Articles
  • Review Papers
  • Case Studies & Applications
  • Short Communications

Special topics for our inaugural issues include:

  • Agentic AI
  • Generative AI
  • AI for Healthcare
  • AI for Enterprise Automation
  • Explainability in AI & Safety
  • Knowledge Graphs
  • Semantic Web
  • Software Security and Vulnerability Management
  • AI for Wireless Communication and Networking
  • AI for Education
  • AI-driven Concurrent Engineering
  • AI-driven Robotics and Automation
  • AI for Bioinformatics in Healthcare

Submissions may incorporate material previously published in conference proceedings, provided that:

  • Additional Content: The manuscript contains significant, unpublished extensions—new experiments, proofs, results, analyses, or expanded discussion—that go beyond the conference version.
  • Distinct Presentation: The journal submission is sufficiently different to avoid copyright infringement.
  • Citation of Original: Authors cite and credit the prior conference paper in the reference list.

This journal format offers the opportunity to present a more complete, polished version of your work.

To ensure a smooth and timely review, please prepare and submit your work according to the guidelines below. Papers submitted in other formats (e.g., a camera-ready or conference style) will be rejected without review. Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. PDF submissions will not be accepted. The file should include the title, abstract, keywords, main text, references, and author information.

Formatting Requirements:

  • Typeface: 12-pt Times New Roman (or equivalent), double-spaced
  • Margins: 1" (2.5 cm) on all sides
  • Page numbering: Bottom-center

Author Information

Each submission must include the full names, affiliations, and email addresses of all contributing authors. The corresponding author should be identified and will serve as the primary contact throughout the review process.

Abstract & Keywords

  • Abstract: 250–350 words summarizing objectives, methods, key results, and conclusions
  • Keywords: 7–9 terms reflecting your paper’s core themes

Main Manuscript Structure

List clearly—using bullets or numbering—the hypotheses or research questions your study addresses. This helps editors and reviewers assess novelty and contribution.

Organize your text under these recommended headings:

  • Introduction
  • Related Work
  • Methodology
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion

Use numbered subsections to enhance readability.

Figures & Tables

  • Resolution: ≥ 300 dpi for images
  • Placement: Embed near first citation
  • Numbering & Captions: Sequential (e.g., Figure 1, Table 2) with descriptive legends

References Style: IEEE or APA—apply consistently

Authors are expected to adhere to ethical standards in research and publishing. Any conflicts of interest, funding sources, or ethical approvals (where applicable) must be disclosed in the manuscript.

  • Policy Violation: Breach of this policy leads to immediate rejection and a six-month ban on further submissions to AIKE Journal.
  • Permissions: Secure and cite permissions for any reused material (figures, tables, text).
  • Conflict of Interest: Disclose any financial or non-financial relationships affecting the work.

All submissions are screened for plagiarism. Manuscripts with significant overlap with previously published work will be rejected. Authors are encouraged to use plagiarism detection tools before submission.

Authors are encouraged to resubmit within 6 months of the original decision. Delayed resubmissions may require justification or may be declined if the topic is no longer aligned with the journal’s current focus.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at: Submission Link

Please include “IJAIKE Submission” in the subject line.

All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process. Authors will be notified of the editorial decision within 4–6 weeks. Revisions, if requested, should be submitted within the specified timeframe.

Upon acceptance, authors will be required to sign a copyright transfer agreement. IJAIKE publishes under an open-access model, allowing free access to published content while retaining author rights.

  • License: CC BY 4.0—free, perpetual reuse with attribution
  • Copyright: Authors retain copyright and grant AIKE Journal first publication rights

We look forward to your submission and to advancing AI and knowledge-engineering research together.
